Assistive Technology: Strategies and Options

This set of nine case studies in the implementation of assistive technologies at Nova Scotian schools is intended to supplement the assistive technology implementation manual published by the Student Services Division at the Department of Education. Individual case studies highlight a different application of AT, from simple to complex, at various grade levels. An additional segment, featuring Barbara Welsford, the AT coordinator of the South Shore Regional School Board, outlines an exemplary AT referral process. This series will be of particular interest to all staff and administrators interested in seeing how AT can increase the integration and achievement of P-12 students with special needs.
